BUNKER, 2020

unique 1/1

11 self-developed b&w analog photo in series

13x18cm Forte fine art photo paper on 18x24cm photo cart board

The series contains experimental “photo paintings”, which were developed by the artist in the darkroom on old Forte photo paper (Hungarian label) from negatives that were most exposed to expired films.

The bleached, destroyed and painted photos present a dark, apocalyptic scenario, photos of an underground shelter alternate with the perspective of a hellish surface.

The series contains experimental “photo paintings”, which were developed by the artist in the darkroom on old Forte photo paper (Hungarian label) from negatives that were most exposed to expired films.

The manipulated photos remind us of photography at the Turn of the Century, but the bleach effects assign a sinister mood as well as the hand-painted and the photogram elements, which disclose signs of intended abstraction.

The series contains experimental “photo paintings”, which were developed by the artist in the darkroom on old Forte photo paper (Hungarian label) from negatives that were most exposed to expired films.

The bleached and scored photos are mixed with photogram techniques, presently abandoned places with clues of violence, and vandalism and turn the visual narration to a surreal outcome.

CURFEW, 2019-2020

11 Self-developed photo in series
40 x 50 cm
Mamiya RB67, Ilford Hp5 Plus Film
Ilford Multigrade FB Warmtone Glossy photo paper.
Limited Edition, Nr20+2AP

The CURFEW analog photo series focuses on the relationship of people and their environment, through visual narration formulating a socially critical message.

The post-industrial aesthetics of the human-made environment and the realistic depiction of a declining natural atmosphere evoke an apocalyptic scenario.

Static black-and-white images create a mood of standstill and timeless position. They suppose a state following a social or environmental disaster, where a viewer’s own visual interpretation becomes available to set up a linear, historical mapping.

TRACES OF SURVIVAL II., 2019

Site-specific participatory work

Random size of several analog and digital photos and objects

TRACES OF SURVIVAL was adapted in a one day workshop of the R7 Gallery in Dresden, I was invited to improvise a site-specific installation. ‘Pressure Me’ is a residency program and an exhibition concept where participants have a 12-hour time frame to conceptualize and create an art piece.

The art action commences at 8 a.m and precisely 12 hours later, at 8 p.m, the participants have created, curated, and displayed their artworks!

I set up a minimal scenographic atmosphere implying for an underground shelter and for its hiding resident. I installed a few symbolic objects (DIY compass, knife blade, vacuum space food, etc.)  and put my black and white photos (dead whales, collapse houses, destroyed devices, etc.) on the wall.

I left some memoirs on the table and invited visitors to continue writing a diary

TRACES OF SURVIVAL, 2018

9 analog photos in series and 4 objects
70×60 cm, Giclée prints
Mamiya rb67, ilford hp5 400
Limited Edition, Nr20+2AP

What is the way out of the social crisis which extends between the anthropocentric world and the overwhelming technological singularity?

The attempts to save the cultural fossils of the past, the worship of the historical ruins, the ideological approach of human values, and the possibilities of posthuman tendencies and artificial intelligence created an age full of crises.

The expanded black and white analog photos suppose a futural apocalyptic scenario where the observer gets an insight into a survival’s environment through photos and objects.
